Kot
What is a kot?
A kot is basically an appartment, but for university students. It may go from 1 to more or less 12 people and is generally a simple housing. Sometimes you won't find the furniture, as its price is generally afordable. When the kot is provided with furniture, it is tipically very simple; you will have old fomats for stoves, ovens, beds etc.
Students in Belgium usually go back to their home on the week-ends so it is simply a place where they're living during lesson days.
You may have some kots with shared batrhoom, common area, shower and kitchen. Sometimes, you may also have your own sink in your room.
Lastly you can find housing directly in the habitant's house: a studio attached to their home, or a level in their home.

Be aware of the scams! if you don't recieve any picture, if the landlord doesn't agree to talk on the phone, if they want you to pay the deposit before signing the contrat, it might be a scam!
